President remarks:

  • We have set a date for the Sand Gnat Game for the 19th of July. Please email Tina to let her know whether or not you are going.  This will give us the RSVP list as well as insuring the messages are getting to everyone. RSVP’s and money need to be in no later that Friday, July 13th.
  • Thank you to all who participated in last month’s night meeting. We raised $92 for our charity Good Samaritan Fund. WOW!!!
  • Those interested in volunteering for the Seafood Festival should email Tina.  She will forward those names on so that the Seafood Festival committee will know of your availability.
  • For those of you who have 2nd businesses, we are please to announce that we are letting you join as a second business with a 10% discount. The first business will receive membership at the original $50/year with each additional business at $45/year. Businesses will be treated as individuals with separate listings on the website.
  • We are discussing doing an Afternoon in the Park in late September.  A silent auction is being considered. Check the website for further updates on this event.

  • WBA has acquired all rights to the WBA website and the logo. The website has been redesigned in order to support added features.
  • The member list has been installed – please check for errors.
  • All announcements will be updated on the first page. You can subscribe via a feed reader, or you can wait for the email notification to come on line.
  • You may now submit all information pertaining to your business for update. Please email ads, announcements, etc. to April.
  • More info to follow as more features become available.

  •  To Leigh Breon and staff for hosting this months meeting at The Shoe Box -  This new shoe store here in The Hill is a match for people who are shoe obsessed and love salon treatment. Come in and see their variety of stylish shoes and accessories and receive an awesome discount this month only. During the meeting we were given an even bigger discount. Thanks so much Leigh, you guys did great.
  • To April Groves - Thank you so much for volunteering your time and energy by making our website more exciting and easier to use.

General Notes

  • Please make every effort to attend our monthly meetings. We have several things coming up that you will want to be a part of.
  • September 11, 2007 -  Our 3rd quarter night meeting for 2007 at Coastal Celebrations. Judy Schieder will be our guest speaker. She will talk to us on tax preparation, planning your retirement, and your business taxes.
  • October 9th -  Cindy Gernatt and Alice Schaeler will host the monthly meeting at Cindy’s Framing on Ford Avenue. We will be nominating new officers this month.  It is time to start thinking of who you would like to be next year’s board members.
  • If you would like to nominate yourself for a board position, please email one of the board members. We would like to have different members on the board so we can get several types of ideas throughout the year.
  • November meeting – TBA We will be voting on our new officers this month. You will want to be there.
  • December - Our annual holiday social and 2008 officer inauguration.
