April Groves began the meeting by thanking everyone who attended.

Announcements:

  • Our charity for the year Bryan Animal Caregivers.
  • A 50/50 raffle will be held at every meeting. Half will go to lucky winner and the other half will benefit our charity.
  • Shirley Heagerty reminded everyone of the deadline of Friday April 11th for the advertising opportunity in the Richmond Hill Magazine. Call Julie at Independent Day Publishing for more info.
  • Shirley also announced that the Business Expo will be held on April 18th from 5:30p.m. to 7:00p.m for all business’ and chamber members and open to the public on April 19th from 10:00a.m to 2:00p.m. with a BBQ cookoff.
  • April announced that she was introduced to this program for natural gas users that they can participate in. For more information, you can go to the website www.cash4electricity.com
  • Cindy Gernatt announced that she is hosting an “All Natural” Weight Loss Presentation at her place of business: Cindy’ Custom Framing & Antique Art. The presentation will be held on April 22nd at 6:30p.m. For more information you can contact Cindy at 912-756-2781 or cindy@simnewlife.com
  • Naomi Havens announced that she belongs to a Organic Food CoOp. If you are interested, contact Naomi at 572-7286 for more information.

April introduced the meeting hosts, Erica Childress and Cheri Wilson, owners of Midnight Star Pottery.

Midnight Star Pottery has been in business for six years and have been in Richmond Hill for a year and a half. They first started off in Savannah and then opened up a second location in Richmond Hill. They have recently sold the Savannah location and moved their Richmond Hill store to the Station Exchange.

Here at the studio, people of all ages can paint pottery and hand build their own pottery out of clay. The newest addition to their studio is glass fusion. They offer party packages for birthdays, bridal showers and more. Appointments recommended for parties. They also offer summer camps for the kids. The studio fees are: price of pottery plus $3.00 for children and $6.00 for adults. On Wednesdays and Saturdays are $3.00 for everyone. Other events

  • The next night meeting will be held in June with the possibility of the speaker being Sonny Dixon from WTOC. There will also be a door prize drawing of $5.00 off the next night meeting.
  • The 50/50 winner was Shirley Rowe of Rowe Photographers. She gave back $10.00 of her winnings to the charity. The charity took in $32.00 from the raffle.

The next WBA meetings host will be Shirley Rowe. Location to be announced.
